Kevin Martens Wong leads the Kristang, in Sid Meier's Civilization ∞.
Who on earth do you think you are, thinking that this
kind of thing is appropriate?
The Kristang word, in this case, might be
apapoitu;
yo lembrah di futura, bos teng impoku, unchinyu di
midu.
Known in his time by a title he himself created, the Last Merlionsman of the Republic of Singapore, this pioneering homosexual non-binary people's hero not only almost singlehandedly brought his culture and people back from the brink of extinction, but completely transformed our understanding of the human psyche, psychoemotional development, and history itself, sparking off a chain reaction that transformed the city-state of Singapore and eventually the entire world that he grew up in.
My fears are not secret or hidden within;
here they are arrayed, and reared
for all to know, and hear.
Mas isti linggu sa palabra pra les
ngka ler.
Isti linggu sa palabra pra akeli otru sorti di azul anyil:
isti linggu sa palabra pra akeli deus di dah kura
Lonchil.
The Kristang unique ability is called The Dreamfisher's Pride. The Kristang cannot win a Domination Victory, even if they conquer the entire world. Instead, the unique resource Ireidi replaces Faith, Science and Culture, and is produced at Holy Site, Theatre Square, Campus and Diplomatic Quarter districts. Ireidi is produced at a faster rate compared to Faith, Science or Culture in other civilisations, and can be used to win either a Religious, Science, Cultural, or Diplomatic Victory — or sometimes, if you're lucky like the Last People have been, all four at the same time.
How kind.
How meaningless.
How completely unrefined.
I find this atrocious.
Asih bos nteh ireidi.
Justu teng erodis.
The Kristang unique unit is called the Manchua, and replaces the Caravel. It is slower, but allows you to start a new trade route with any city it sails into, regardless of whether the owner is a friend or foe. Trade routes made by the Manchua cannot be plundered by barbarians or by other Civs.
I don’t have any ways to understand how any of this
is really a rekindling, a reinvigorating.
Asih bos mistih prendeh klai tomah
bos onsong sa odring.
The Kristang's unique tile improvement is the Jarding. They can only be built next to Encampments, Industrial Zones and Harbour districts of other civilisations and city-states, but grant you a major Ireidi bonus that continues at a reduced rate even if you are at war with the other Civ, as long as the Jarding remains intact.
Tell me on what basis we can consider any of these facts.
Yo nadi falah olotu fikah chuma facts, chuma sabia di ardansa:
isti justu klai birah, klai trukah akeli roda mundansa.
Kevin Martens' unique leader ability is called "The Once and Future Quing". The Kristang gain a random new technology and a random new social policy from any historical era, and a major one-off production bonus each time you start a new trade route, meet a new civilisation, encounter a new tribal village or recruit a new Great Person.
What kind of twisted version of history is this? I cannot bear
to see a homosexual hero writing in his own revisions
into the margins.
Yo nadi skribeh angkoza
ki tudu ngka asedeh. Isti justu kaminyu di
arkuiris.
Known as the Last People when they reemerged onto the main stage of history, use the Kristang’s unique abilities to rise up quickly from behind and put your strategic mind to good use, as you make trade deals, generate Great People and build up your ireidi quickly to develop an unstoppable path to victory. Like an Omimerliang or a Tigrisoneru, you might need to make some quick improvisations and on-the-spot changes, but once you know how to roll with the punches, and follow the tides of faith and fate, the sea, sky and spacetime can all be yours.
Can you rewrite history, and change the story of the Jenti Kristang and their dreams?
How will you lead the Kristang, in Sid Meier's Civilization ∞?
How will you lead yourself towards your own Greatest Journey?
Klai bos logu ingkontrah, na akeli via hierosa,
bos onsong sa futura di berdadi?
