I might be young, and stupid,
but I know that it has to happen.
I might be quiet, and insipid,
but I know that there is a pattern.
I might be angry, and livid,
but I know that all it takes is one right action:
I might be tired, and filled with
deep, painful, immortalising sadness.
And that’s it. There’s nothing left except
sadness. And dread. For the country and the nation
if you treat this as just one more
aimless polling station.
If you what you are saying to us, implicitly and covertly
is that TikTok is your new devotion.
If what we are supposed to believe from all this
is that you really are the new sensation.
This, to me,
is real discrimination
still waiting for some actual, authentic
democratisation.
