Why, hello there, High Evolutionaries;
I didn't realise reality
sometimes corresponded so synchronously and closely
to the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3.
I didn't realise you were so concerned with Eurasian identity,
until I looked closer,
and saw that you wanted history
to repeat.
You may have turned my friend against me before,
but I think he's learned his lesson.
I think he now knows, at least, that betrayal can be disregarded, but at a very steep price per session;
I think he now knows, at the very least, who he should be fighting for.
Not me.
Not even my culture or identity:
just a world where we can all be, like my great-great-great-grandfather,
Justices of the Peace.
You know what they say, at the very, veriest least:
when the Kristang are active, that's when things are starting to get really
interesting.
Throughout our history,
we've had such dalliances with authority,
colonial, and British, and Singaporean. Conniving
little half-breeds, you once liked to say:
and now their beautiful non-binary leader is also non-binary and gay.
Do you know what else is non-binary?
Reality, and the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3.
And do you know who else I suspect is gay?
You, and me, and every last person on the planet alive today.
You still regret the decisions you made because you were afraid of what others might say
if you struck out on your own, like I did.
You still conceal the things that you did that you hope will never see the light of day;
that's why you think no one will fight by your side. No one sees you as psychoemotionally fit.
But this is why I am Kabesa:
I know love will always find a way,
whenever you, and I, and everyone alive, are willing to fight for it.
