என் பெயர் கெவின். It's a bit unclear
what you're trying to say; are you claiming
to be without fear,
kiora sabeh
ki pra skribeh bos sa nomi na ungotru linggu
the air will somehow betray
what you hold dear to your Fuad,
and dear to your God-fearing
sleights of hand,
your mightiest follies —
your dreams, buried in the sand?
Keh fikah mas lonzi
di tudu anoti neng pataka neng sen.
The world and all its oysters have no place for men
ki ja gostah olotu onsong sa lagri,
who like to write without stipend.
I think you would muddy my daughter;
asih teng tantu fortuna ki bos agora ja teng
துறைமுகம். Letra-letra ki ja beng
di ozi sa prendisa,
for what must surely be tomorrow's dividends.
Sperah bolotu lo fikah saodi
where water meets land's end.
Disclaimer: All of my Tamil poetry is highly experimental; I am trying to use my poetry as a means of learning and improving my command of தமிழ் மொழி (as the song goes, அடடா, நான் கவிஞன்!) and simultaneously developing and reinvigorating my connection to the wonderful and beautiful South Asian influences in Kristang. If you spot any grammatical errors in my Tamil or places where the imagery could be more refined or developed (or where an awkward or undesirable image is accidentally created), I would greatly appreciate your comments and feedback :) Please drop me an email at merlionsman at gmail dot com to let me know how I can improve.
